Ages 9+ or by invitation!

Our RAD Grade 1 Ballet class is designed for dancers aged 9+ or those invited as a natural progression from our Pre-Primary in Dance or Primary in Dance (RAD Ballet) classes! This level builds on the foundations of classical ballet while introducing students to more structured technique and artistry in line with the Royal Academy of Dance Grade 1 syllabus!

Students will develop correct ballet technique, posture, alignment, strength, flexibility, coordination, and musicality! The syllabus focuses on refining basic ballet steps, improving control and balance, developing turnout safely, and encouraging expressive movement and confidence through both set exercises and creative elements!

Dancers will work progressively through the RAD Grade 1 syllabus at a supportive and age-appropriate pace, with a strong emphasis on enjoyment, self-discipline, and personal achievement! Optional RAD examinations are offered for students who wish to participate when the teacher feels that students are ready!

Students will also have the opportunity to take part in annual performances and events, allowing them to showcase their progress and build confidence on stage!
